The Jackson Township Police Department proudly serves the residents of Jackson Township and the Village of Farmersville. Jackson Township is located in southwestern Montgomery County and is comprised of thirty –six square miles. Our community is a mixture of residential and agricultural properties.

The Jackson Township Police Department is dispatched by the Montgomery County Regional Dispatch Center — (937) 696-2444 or 225-HELP.

The analog dispatch system, currently employed by the Montgomery County Sheriff's Office (MCSO) will no longer be suppoted by the vendor, Motorola, as of July 2010.

As a result the MCSO submitted for, and received, a grant through the Ohio Office of Criminal Justice Services (OCJS) for purchase of digital portable and mobile radios totaling $76,512. The equipment will be deployed to agencies served by the Reginal Dispatch Center (RDC). Jackson Twp., as well as Clay Township and Phillipsburg will each receive one portable with shoulder microphone and charger,and a mobile unit worth about about $6800.

The upgrade will enhance communications between public safety agencies, increasing interoperability. Public safety will have access to over 800 talk groups compared with the current 48 on analog.

The Jackson Township Police Department is proud to announce the release of our “Virtual Neighborhood Watch”. By registering, Township residents, the Jackson Township Police Department will email you alerts for:

• missing persons
• multiple thefts or break ins
• scams
• or other law enforcement related issues that require public support and feedback

The website will also provide a gateway for residents to provide information to the police department that may be critical to stopping criminal activity or aid in ongoing investigations. The Alerts system will also provide the police department with emergency contact information so that we can efficiently address issues should a problem ever arise at your residence.

• Virtual Neighborhood watch is only available to residents of Jackson Twp. and the Village of Farmersville.
• Information provided at signup will be verified prior to receiving Alerts
• Emergency contact information and email address information will be stored in a secure environment and will not be shared with outside entities
• We INSIST that residents of the community DO NOT act on any information provided to them. A residents’ sole responsibility should be to provide information to the police department. There should be no interaction with potential suspects based on an Alert received from the police department.
